“A Distinctive Character” Chapter from Ambiguity is the Answer excerpted in Social Policy
Social Policy: Organizing for Social and Economic Justice invited Kyle Crawford to publish an excerpt from his book Ambiguity is the Answer: Timeless Strategies for Creating Change in the Fall 2024 issue. The journal has an esteemed Editorial Advisory Group including icons such as Frances Fox Piven (who is quoted in the book), Heather Booth (co-founder of underground abortion provider JANE), and Noam Chomsky, among others.
Given the journal’s focus on organizing and social change, Kyle chose to excerpt the chapter “A Distinctive Character,” which focuses on Marlon Riggs, his film Tongues Untied, and the early years of the HIV/AIDS movement.
You can access the excerpt on the Social Policy website here: https://www.socialpolicy.org/132-articles/current-issue/fall-2024/1354-excerpt-when-the-odds-are-stacked-against-you-be-ambiguous.html
